Ball Bearings are a type of rolling-element bearing that uses balls to maintain the separation between the moving parts of the bearing. The purpose of deep groove precision ball bearings is to reduce rotational friction and support radial and axial loads. Radial Ball bearings can support moderate radial loads and moderate axial loads (parallel to the shaft). They can operate at high speeds (400,000 RPMs and higher). Ball bearings with shields or seals for protection can be lubricated to last for the operating life. Sometimes ball bearings are also called “deep groove ball bearings.”
Ball Bearings perform in everyday applications, as well as the most demanding environments, including: extreme temperatures, cryogenic, vacuum, and corrosive. Super precision, bulk steel and ceramic ball components are available.
Types: Single-row, Double-row, Angular Contact, Self-aligning, Thrust

RoHS Compliance
The Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) Directive (2011/65/EU) bans the placing on the EU market of new EEE containing more than the agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent, chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) flame retardants and some phthalates.
We confirm that all NPBearings.com are RoHS compliant.
- 1Angular Contact Ball Bearings
Angular Contact Ball Bearings carry combined loads, both radial and axial, designed, much like the super precision bearings, for high-speed and high-precision applications.
- 2Automotive Air Conditioning Ball Bearings
Automotive AC ball bearings and Air Conditioner bearings, are suitable for the high-speed applications Automotive A/C compressors require. They are typically double-row ball bearings, rubber sealed on both sides, and pre-lubricated with high-speed grease.
- 3Ceramic Ball Bearings
Ceramic ball bearings are made entirely of ceramic material and are superior to common steel bearings in many ways.Because ceramic is a glass like surface it has an extremely low coefficient of friction and is ideal for applications seeking to reduce friction and heat. Ceramic balls require less lubricant and have a greater hardness than steel balls which will contribute to increased bearing life.
- 4Deep Groove Ball Bearings
Deep Groove Ball Bearings are incredibly versatile and the most widely used. Due to their low friction, they are capable of high rotational speeds, supporting both radial and axial loads. Bearings Direct offers both in metric and inch sizes , also we stock stainless steel made materials metric and inch sizes.
- 5Double Row Ball Bearings
Double Row Deep Groove Ball Bearings includes double row angular contact ball bearings. These are open-shielded-sealed closures. These bearings come pre-lubricated with grease.
- 6Electric Motor Quality Bearings
Electric Motor Quality (EMQ) bearings are designed and and Noise Tested to a noise quality standard. All EMQ Bearings are available in C3 Fit (with limited sizes available in C4 fit). EMQ Bearings offer to include Ceramic Hybrid Balls. Ceramic balls have an even greater density and hardness than a standard ceramic ball.
- 7Flanged Ball Bearings(F, MF)
Flanged Ball Bearings(F, MF) with flanged outer rings correspond to ordinary ball bearings with snap rings. The flange extends around the entire circumference of the outer ring due to the size limitation and to improve its running accuracy. Since it is no necessary to provide a shoulder on the housing bore if this bearing is used, the bore can be a simple cylindrical shape which facilitates high precision machining and also reduces the machining time.
- 8Fishing Reel Stainless Steel Ceramic Bearings
Stainless Steel and Ceramic Hybrid fishing reel bearings are available in ABEC5 & ABEC7 for all of the popular fishing reels. Ceramic by its nature is lighter than steel by about 2/3 the weight, it is harder than steel when it is in ball form and it is virtually less friction because it is non-porous. A ceramic hybrid bearing has steel races with ceramic balls. The balls will never corrode or rust.
- 9Miniature Ball Bearings
Miniature Ball Bearings are small bearings with bore sizes between 1 and 10 mm or up to half an inch. A number of miniature ball bearings are in both metric and inch sizes that meet ABEC1, ABEC3, ABEC5 and ABEC7 precision class. Bearings in this series are designed for moderate radial and thrust loads at a low operating torques.
- 10R Ball Bearings
R Ball Bearings are available in a variety of materials, including stainless steel and chrome steel, and feature a high level of precision and durability. Designed to reduce friction and support heavy loads, our inch-sized ball bearings are ideal for use in a range of applications, including industrial equipment, automotive components, and machinery.
- 11Self Aligning Ball Bearings
Self-Aligning Ball Bearings are double-row balls and one concave spherical raceway in the outer ring, that can adapt to both static and dynamic angular misalignment. As a result the bearing is self-aligning and insensitive to misalignments of the shaft in relation to the housing.
- 12Stainless Steel Ball Bearings
Stainless Steel Ball Bearings are manufactured in AISI-440C rings made from the more corrosion resistant. The stainless steel shields and retainers are usually made from AISI-304 stainless steel but some sizes are available with a reinforced polyamide retainer. All sizes can be supplied with stainless steel shields or rubber contact seals.
- 13Thin Section Ball Bearings
Thin Section Ball Bearings Thin-walled deep groove ball bearing is with thin width or thin height size of deep groove ball bearing. And the thin wall ball bearings are different from conventional deep groove ball bearings in that cross-section of each series are designed to be a fixed size, which do not increase as an inner diameter increased.
- 14Super Precision ABEC7/P4 Bearings
Deep Groove & Super Precision Radial Ball Bearings consists of super precision ABEC7/p4 bearings with a phenolic retainer. These bearings are perfect for high-speed and precision applications.
- 15Thrust Ball Bearings
Thrust Ball Bearings are ball bearings that can carry axial loads alone. Bearings Direct supplies thrust ball bearings that are single row, in both miniature and regular three-piece configurations.
- 16V Groove Bearings and Wire Straighteners
Wire guide bearings are available in inch and metric styles. They are available with extra thick cross sections for increased life. They are distinguished by a groove that, while typically 90 degrees, can be produced in various angles and contours. Grooves can be provided on most Ball Bearings, Cam Followers and Yoke Rollers per customer specification.
QualityPrecision Vs. High Precision
Generally speaking, precision ball bearings comply to ABEC-1 and ABEC-3 tolerances while high-precision ball bearings comply to ABEC-5, ABEC-7, or ABEC-9 tolerances. Some general purpose ball bearings intentionally do not comply to the ABEC precision tolerance specifications and are not graded nor rated as such.
